Commissioner Malmström speaks about progressive trade policy in Zagreb

As part of a two-day visit, Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström today participated in a Citizens' Dialogue at the University of Zagreb.

In her opening address, the Commissioner focused on the EU agenda for a progressive, fair, transparent and values-based trade policy, as set out in the EU trade and investment strategy "Trade for All", outlining the opportunities and challenges of the EU's current ambitious trade agenda and the many negotiations in which the EU is involved, including Japan and Latin America. She set out in particular the benefits of the EU-Canada comprehensive economic and trade agreement, CETA, for Croatia.

In addition to the event, Commissioner Malmström is meeting with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Martina Dalić, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Davor Ivo Stier.
